Nearing completion.

Cozy Cottage

Bristol, Indiana

Our rig repair is getting closer to completion.  They did indeed discovered a broken rib weld when they peeled off the outer wall over the bay doors near the bedroom slide.

Not only did they reweld, but they added extra support as well as additional stitches to the horizontal pieces.

Then it was off to the fiberglass shop with the rig.  It appears from the last update that the project will be completed right on schedule at the end of this week.

Even though Dad's patch job seemed to be holding up well, we also had the grey tank replaced.

So far it has been a smooth, planned repair job. 😄

Now as for Pam's repairs, nothing has happened on schedule.😕😢  The original plan was one week at the shop for her rig repairs.   After numerous discussions and pictures analyzed (two weeks worth), warranty insists it is owner's failure to maintain the rig that has caused the slide floor to rot, so today Affinity RV Repair began repairs with Pam footing the bill.  The projection is to have the work completed by the end of the week.

Now Pam's truck as a whole different, drawn out tale that began a month ago, with no firm completion projection at this time.  The state tech rep, the man with all the 'knowledge', arrived today instead of yesterday as planned.  He did manage to look at Pam's truck and has come up with a plan.  Now keep in mind, Pam was told the injectors had passed the tests run by the local techs.  Today, she was told the plan was to replace all the injectors...which of course have to be ordered and shipped.  Then they proceeded to tell her how they were going all out for her and spending extra money for priority shipping of the parts. Somehow, we all failed to be impressed by that grand gesture.  Not only that, we all have a lack of confidence that the new injectors will actually be the 'magic fix'.   It is a wait and see game at this point.

Friday we depart from Cozy Cottage, so our tentative plan is to circle back to Cadillac, Michigan where the truck is still at Baker Dodge and will hopefully be ready to roll by the beginning of next week.  Then we will head south....and that is rather timely....especially when you look at the projected temperatures.

It's called FALL in Indiana.  Everyone was surprised at the warm fall they have been experiencing so far.  We took credit for that!  But it appears those comfortable temperatures are over.  Definitely time to head south for these Floridians!
