Mother Nature's Colorful Gift

Sunday was a wet day. Wet in the morning when we washed the fiberglass dust and road grime off the rig and wet in the late afternoon and night when the storm blew through. We are parked near an oak tree with plenty of acorns on the ground...but not all of them had fallen....as we were made aware when the wind blew thru the trees.  I even got bopped on the head so I ran under the camper.  Ouch! Those acorns may be little but they still sting when they fall from a distance.

Well, so much for smooth traveling.  Pam's Ram threw a code.  Something related to DEF.  She found an open auto parts store with a code reader that really didn't tell her much so Monday morning she made sure to be at the local Dodge dealer when they opened at 8am.  She was told it was a sensor that is beginning to fail but it is not to the point where warranty will replace it.  She will probably make it back to Florida before it will be ready to be replaced.  Huh?? Why wouldn't warranty replace it now?  So that means another visit to a service center will be in her future.  More time taken up dealing with the same issue.

We had a very colorful trip

as we wound up and down, around the curves through the mountainous area of West Virginia.

Today's destination was Brushcreek Falls RV Resort.  Upon our arrival the park took on a resort appearance

with a classy looking park sign complete with waterfalls.  But as we left the office area, the resort look disappeared, giving way to close gravel sites, many appearing to be on the short side and rather unlevel.

We paid a Passport America rate of 50% off which is really what our overnight site rate should be as far as Dad is concerned.  Momma said she thinks the amenities, many of which are closed due to the time of year and the chilly temps, are why they added resort to their name.

Momma wonders why washing your dog in the hot tub is listed on the prohibited list of rules.  Did someone actually do that?

We are located several sites away from Pam....43 ~ 49.  As we were in the process of setting up, Dad's phone rang with a 'May Day/SOS' call.  Pam was having an issue attempting to plug her electric cord into the rig.  The connection had sunk into the rig making difficult to plug in her cord.  Luckily, a Good Samaritan/fellow camper was able to pull out the connection making it possible to plug into the connection.  A replacement part has been located at our next destination.

And so it goes while traveling .....
