Token Creek Park
Madison, WI
Okay, so it's only 91 degrees but with the humidity it feels like 107 and the news keeps giving heat warnings. It's the kind of humid heat that takes the starch right out of you and your tongue dragging after a game of fetch. I'm rather glad they left me at the rig with both AC units running while they headed for the State Capital. The mission was two fold.....the Capital building as well as the farmer's market outside the building. Dad asked Momma exactly where the market was located in relationship to the Capital. He wanted to locate on the proper side. Well, that wasn't an issue...... as the market went all the way around the building....a full 360 degrees.
Lots of veggies, flowers, baked goods and vendors with loads of people to navigate with and around.
Check out these mushrooms.
The Capital was a nice air conditioned break after the long, hot trek around the building. As with most Capital buildings, there was lots of marble, carvings, paintings and opulence. It didn't disappoint.
As promised by the weatherman, the afternoon rain came and with it the MOSQUITOES. And boy were they hungry little devils. Momma took me out for just a short walk and she was covered with welts. We are in a county park and they like to leave things natural. I guess that includes the mosquitoes. No sitting outside here!!
It's a strange set up. There is a one way loop and 3/4 of the way around the loop is the dump station, a fresh water fill station and the public rest rooms. We have one of the 50 amp sites and we are using water from our on board tank and we will have to go to the dump station to empty our tanks when we depart. That means out the gate and around the loop...over the speed bumps.....as our site is located near the end of the loop. I think Dad is considering just backing up the 3 or 4 sites to the dump station. But then we'll miss the dumpster that is located as you enter the loop. I'll let you know which way the coin flips when we depart.
I'm Chloe
