Goshen, Indiana
Our 'hang out' group is getting smaller. First Dickie and Dotty departed on Friday so they could gather up the grandkids for some RVing time. I will miss them, probably not as much as Momma and Dad as they didn't take any of my four legged friends with them.
On Monday, Ted and Colleen departed as well as Bob and Reba. Now that was a real blow because my four legged friend and playmate Sue, the gentle giant went with them.
Dad says I need another tubby to get off the "Sue slobber" from my ears. I told him it is great hair gel to style my hair.
I think I'm exhausted from all the romping.
I know Dad will miss his Banana Split Buddies. Culver's has some great tasting custard....and their sandwiches and salads are good also so I've heard.....as I'm not allowed to enjoy anything from the Culver's people menu. But it seems the guys really enjoy the banana splits as they have made the trip several times and returned home smacking their lips.
Jerry is still here to enjoy a split or two with along with Tom and Nancy.
Now I have to tell you a heart warming story. While at Culver's enjoying ....yes... a banana split... a gentleman and his two children came over to the table and said, "I noticed by your hats that you guys are Veterans. We just wanted to say thank you for your service." He then tossed some Culver's gift cards at the Veterans. What a kind gesture. And what a positive role model that father is for his children!
Momma and Dad visited Crystal Springs Creamery and purchased some of their yogurt. The reviews said the yogurt was terrific, but reviews are just someone's opinion. Well, as it turns out, their opinion matched Momma's opinion so they went back to the creamery for more yogurt.
The creamery belongs to an Amish family. The sons milk the cows and Dad makes the yogurt which is enhanced by the fruit that the daughter cooks/thickens to put in the bottom of the yogurt container, They also have fresh eggs and milk for sale. Even orange cream milk, root beer milk, chocolate milk. They aren't open every day of the week, but they are busy when they are open.
We are still enjoying the Amish countryside with the laundry flapping in the breeze and the teams of 4 horses cutting hay.
You are probably disappointed that there are no pictures of the haying, but I'm sure you are not as dismayed as Momma was when the screen on her phone went unresponsive. Everything looked perfectly normal until you touched the screen to interact with the phone. It totally ignored all touches and did absolutely NOTHING. The phone had been sending the suggestion that it was getting tired as the battery life was getting shorter, planting the seed that new phone time was getting near. Well, the message was VERY clear when the screen wouldn't respond to any touches or commands. REPLACE ME.
Sooo... Momma and Dad took a trip to Best Buy in nearby Mishawaka. They have been using 'unlocked' phones for a while now so they just needed to purchased another unlocked phone. Momma was singing the praises of Ashley who assisted in the sale and transferring/set up of the new phone. Momma marveled at the creative approach to the unresponsive phone. Ashley connected a mouse to the old phone seeing as the touch screen was unresponsive. Voila!! Info accessed and transfer completed. And Ashley's parting words were, 'If you have any problems, we are here for you.' What a refreshingly, positive experience!!
Warning.... the old text messages didn't transfer so if anyone sent out a text during the down time or transfer and didn't receive a reply, you can now understand why.
As with all thing new, there are changes. The hardest change that Momma is dealing with right now is the camera on the phone. The old phone took the picture when you touched ANYWHERE on the screen. The new phone has a special spot that needs to be touched to capture a picture. Momma has taken so many pictures the 'old way' that her muscle memory has her touching the screen anywhere and missing the capture of the pic. Ooops!! I wonder how may lost pics will be taken before she gets it right?
Maybe I'll just have to take control....
I'm Chloe
