Smiles galore

August 6, 2018
Perkinsville, Vt

Dad came home smiling today....and so did Momma.  I wonder if it was because of the interesting museum...American Precision Museum in Windsor, Vt.

How do you get every metal part you create to come out exactly/precisely the same?  You use a machine that removes human error and makes precise cuts, groves, and shapes metal

into a trigger for a gun or a part for a sewing machine,
bicycle,
a typewriter,
a threaded screw.  I think you get the idea.

Do you have any idea what this is?
It was on the desk as you enter the museum.  It's a good thing correctly identifying this gadget wasn't a requirement for entrance to the museum.  Who would have thought ....it's a pencil sharpener.

Now the smiles could also be caused by the next stop.

Momma was able to get another set of the silicone muffin cups that she likes so well.  Dad decided to pass on the $9 hot dog special of the day.  Well, it did say it came with macaroni salad...but he still thought it was quite pricey.  Maybe it was the King Arthur Roll that boosted the price??

But I think the huge smiles were all about the bag of smoked meat that they slipped into the rig.
I was ready to join them for the smoked BBQ ribs but ...yep, I was NOT invited to partake beyond a good smell.

So you decide what the smiles were all about...maybe the smiles just got bigger as the day progressed....as it was a very good day....well, until it came time to cook the fresh ears of corn and warm the ribs.  Did I mention that we have only 30amp power here?  Now that normally wouldn't be an issue if the voltage didn't drop down to 104.  As soon as Momma pressed the button on the microwave, our EMS shut down the power to protect our appliances.  But Dad said, "I'll take care of that issue!"  He started our generator so dinner could be cooked.  We had LOTS of power then without fear of doing damage to appliances with low voltage.

My Dad is VERY resourceful...as I'm sure you all know.

I'm Chloe
