A dozen states and still counting

August 5, 2018
Crown Point Campground
Perkinsville, Vt

Boy was Momma happy for 4 wheel drive or we wouldn't have been able to look at White Birches CG in the rear view mirror.  We are muddy, but happy to have departed.  If they really had gravel sites as advertised, it wouldn't have been an issue.

I will be sleeping in state number 12 tonight, Vermont.
And I'm just 7 months old.  I have visited veterinarians in four states gathering my shots, boosters and the vet in New York even gave me a laser treatment (spaying) on August 1st.  Life is a new adventure every week in this family!  I really want to run and play hard but Dad said he is following the doctor's orders to keep it 'low key' for a few more days.  Pooh!  I'm ready to tear it up.  I feel good...... Okay, okay...I'll take a nap as soon as I finish my tale.

So I didn't get to tell you about my adventures in NY.  We were camped at the St. Johnstown Marina and Campground in the last row....closest to the train tracks...but I didn't mind.  They have an enforced leash law and no dog parks in the area so I got to go to Doggy Daycare with my friend Heidi (Bob and Kathy's white German shepherd pup) a few times.
The adults would head off for a movie or some such nonsense while I got to play with the gang.  I always had a good report card so I was invited back.

Dad and Momma took off one afternoon to visit some friends who have a farm.  Dad had a heart to heart with Nancy's horse.

They are pretty much retired so they no longer have dairy cows, but they have beautiful fields and friendly Amish neighbors.  This field was spotted on the way to their house.
Nancy said the Amish created these shocks of wheat at night wearing miners head lamps.  The arrangement keeps the grain heads off the ground until thrashing can take place.

The Marina Campground only has two sites that are not seasonal sites.  We had to move off our site for two nights because there was a prior reservation.  Some friends invited us to camp in their driveway with full hook up .  Talk about view!!
And they didn't have a leash law so I got to run and roll in their lush grass.  Dad and his friend spent time in Sherm's huge shop and they even started up a couple of Farmall Tractors from his collection.

Another day, we took a walk along the Mohawk River which was part of the Erie Canal where barges used to be towed by mules.  I liked the swing they had installed just for me.

Remington Arms has a small museum in neighboring Illion.

They don't give a factory tour any more, but they do show a video of what you would see if you did tour the gun making process in addition to the gun collection they have on display.  Camping friends Rosemary and Ken were in this area overnight but our schedules didn't mesh so we didn't get to see them.

Dad and Momma even got to enjoy great calzone....without me.

Would you believe I'm still leading a sheltered/restricted life of no people food?  But I'm still growing daily.  I'm 38 pounds heavy...just from dog food....but I'm slim and sleek with great muscle tone.  Yep, that's me.....

I'm Chloe
time for my nap
