Eastport, Maine
This was definitely my lucky day. Momma and Dad had made plans to go the the Blueberry Festival in nearby Machias today but.....it rained....and not just a drizzle that their rain coats could have easily handled. And it was chilly.....never getting out of the low 60's...which mixed with all the dampness felt bone chilling, fireplace hugging cold. So that's exactly what they did. They turned on the fireplace and stayed home with ME!! Poor Dad didn't put on shorts today. It was long pants for sure. And he even thought hugging the candle would might feel good on his hands
....and it probably would have if indeed it was a REAL candle instead of a fake battery powered glow. So I let him bury those chilly fingers in my fur and absorb my body heat while I enjoyed a massage.
Ahhh!! It was my lucky day.
And of course, when it is chilly and you need some extra heat, it's the perfect day for a little oven heat and pumpkin muffins. Our neighbors appreciated that for sure as Momma shared with them. It was the least she could do to return the generous favor of passing along their Nova Scotia literature. They had just ended a 51 day Maritime Caravan that not only took them into Nova Scotia, but into Newfoundland as well.
So I was able to romp and stomp from one end of the rig to the other chasing my toys
until the rains finally slowed and they decided Lobster Bisque from the Chowder House would be just what they needed on this dreary day.
There was plenty of lobster available. They were just refilling the tank when they arrived.
It's a good thing that the Chowder House has inside seating as well as outdoor. Unlike yesterday, it was not a good day for sitting outside along the water's edge and enjoying the ocean view.
Yep, it was my lucky day for sure. I'm sure tomorrow they will be off gallivanting once again.
I'm Chloe
