Embellished tale

August 7, 2018
Perkinsville, Vt

Yesterday Momma and Dad's excursion took them in a northerly direction.  Today's excursion headed them in a southerly direction.  The road was freshly paved but not striped yet so they traveled at work zone speed of 45 mph, but that gave them more time to enjoy the beautiful scenery and countryside.  No flat land or palm trees here.

Momma had read an article written by a freelance writer for a newspaper so they headed to Grafton, Vt for a cheese factory tour and some cheese tasting/possible purchasing in a 'quaint' town.  Well, the factory tour didn't include any humans.  The sign above the door said welcome.  The room was small with a large glass for viewing the huge vat of curd being mechanically stirred.
And there you have it.  Well, there were a couple of pictures on the wall and a TV that wasn't connected to anything.  Let's see, that tour took all of .....2 minutes.....because it was difficult trying to grab a picture without a lot of reflection.  Dad said,  "And we drove how far to view this?  Who was that writer?"

But lunch took the day to a higher level of success.  The sandwich they shared at MKT Grafton was super.
The muffuletta on the sandwich was so tasty, Momma brought a jar home. Do you think I can convince her to give me a taste?  I can be sweet and persuasive....but Momma's a tough one when it comes to my health.  She keeps telling me I'm still a growing pup and need to be sure to eat healthy puppy food and to smile when I get all these puppy shots that are supposed to keep me healthy.   MKT also sold Grafton Cheese Curd that they brought home. I guess I won't taste that either.  All they shared were the pictures of the flowers planted around the buildings in the town.

As it turned out, all the tasting of the day was done at The Vermont Country Store.  It is truly a 'tourist' shop so in addition to high prices, the store offered plenty of grazing....cheeses, dips, crackers, button cookies,  pepperoni, jellies....lots of great samples.

But by far, the best part of my day was when they returned home for  a game of fetch and catch.  I fetch my squeaky toy and tell Dad to catch me if he can as I jump up behind him on his chair.

I'm faster than the wind 😘
I'm Chloe
