Eastport, Maine
Seaview RV Park
Here we are in the Easternmost city in the continental US....Eastport, Maine.
Would you believe that Eastport, Maine is located on Moose Island? The only moose I've spotted so far have been on signs along the road and decals stuck on vehicles...and they aren't even as large as I am.
Eastport is supposed to have a population around 2000. I do know that they have a VERY large fish, lobster, clam, haddock, scallop population that is dwindling everyday due to all the human consumption. Momma and Dad just added to the decline as they enjoyed two large servings of seafood chowder
complete/loaded with lobster, clams, scallops and haddock with a few potato chunks.
I think Dad must have been hungry because he followed the recommendation of the GPS and headed down the steep 'goat path' ...hey, maybe it was a moose pass...rather than locating another entrance road.
As they were enjoying their late lunch at Quoddy's
two boats arrived at the dock to off load today's catch as Quoddy's is also a fish house as well as restaurant. No worries on running out of fresh catch.
The city borders the water with a variety of buildings. Check out this building that was to the left of Quoddy's as you looked out over the water.
There are signs all over saying no trespassing and the building looks pretty much dilapidated but if you look close, high up on the top of the building there is a fairly new looking satellite dish. Mmmmm. Wonder what that is for?
The buildings along the waterfront ranged from fixer uppers (or as Dad recommended...burner downers)
to cute renovated buildings that have been turned into galleries or B and B's,
to a newly constructed multi-squared footage modern home.
Dad didn't locate the diesel pump yet to replenish our supply for the Ram but they spotted a Family Dollar and an IGA along with a credit union and bank as they did a quick tour of the downtown area. And this gal.....
I think she probably has an artist's soul.
Now me....I have an excitable soul. I still get sooooo excited when I meet someone new...be it a four legged friend or a two legged. I jump and romp and want to play with them all. I met lots of new friends at our last campground and Momma scowled as I tried to jump on all of them. She keeps asking me when I will 'mature'. Now what fun is that?
Momma and Dad met some new friends at the campground we just left in Bangor, Maine. They were a camping group, Escapees Chapter 3. They invited Dad and Momma to join them for social hour and pot luck last night. Dad even helped out the neighbors who had just purchased a new Columbus Fifth Wheel. The new rig prompted a yard/site sale of no longer needed items. Dad took/purchased two day night slow rise shades from them for the rear side windows that are still sporting the accordion shades. Little by little, we have been swapping over all our shades to the slow rise day/night. It means he has another project, but he just had to help the neighbors get rid of some of that extra weight of extraneous items that they have been carrying around. Besides that, the price was a steal!!
It's time for floor play....okay Dad, let's do it! Maybe we should get out my moose toy in honor of Moose Island😀
I'm Chloe
