Skyline Ranch Resort site 8
Front Royal, Virginia
So usually there is some tale to tell or an item of interest to share but it turned out to be an average, ho-hum travel day with the same 'jerk' maneuvers that we see on every trip. Momma said she hasn't decided if people cut you off....pull out in front of you.... just so they don't have to follow a big rig or if they are practicing the 'me first' philosophy that seems to be becoming more and more prevalent, rather than the common courtesy Momma grew up with.
I think the only noteworthy item is the fact that the fireplace has finally gotten a rest. No heat needed as it only got down to 65 last night which kept the camper at a comfortable temperature. I didn't even feel the need to curl up in my chair to keep my back warm. It would have made me too warm for sure. But Momma said there is a sacrifice to be made with the warmer temp. We have left all the beautiful fall colors behind.Taken in Intercourse, Pennsylvania
Our sites are back in sites and the directions to our site had us backing in on the blind side. Dad zipped our rig right in our site and then Momma and Dad headed to site 4 to assist Pam in 'blind side parking'.
The next challenge was digging out enough sewer hose to reach to the far back recess of the site.
Sometimes you get lucky enough to back up letting the back part of the rig 'hang over' while still keeping the jacks positioned on the site. With a tree located smack dab in the middle of the back of the site, we were limited as to how far back we could go.
