Some people really know how to greet their guests. Aunt Carol and Uncle Steve have friends who live nearby in Montreat. The two-legged were invited to their house with a VERY impressive driveway. The big silver beast (Uncle Steve's dually) was parked at the bottom of the driveway. Everyone transferred to Joe's SUV and were launched in the air winding up in the carport. WHEW!! Just like a carnival ride. As everyone exited the vehicle and took in the scenery at the top of the steep driveway, the resident black bear lumbered in front of the house about 10 feet away, took one look at everyone, turned around and lumbered away. Quite an impressive greeting.
Friday turned out to be a marvelous day with everything falling into place nicely. Uncle Steve's third AC...the front unit...had malfunctioned on our journey. He had contacted a mobile tech in this area and had hopes of getting a replacement unit. Alas, no units were available upon arrival....but....the very efficient, productive, persistent gal that Uncle Steve had been conversing with to set up an appointment located an AC heatpump unit. Friday morning the instatllation was carried off without a hitch and Aunt Carol and Uncle Steve are beaming, even though they had to dig a bit into their wallet. Sadly, they were out of warranty by a few months.
That freed up the rest of the day and the lunch that had been cancelled due to the storm was rescheduled....a drive to Maggie Valley to hook up with Ted and Donna.
We are home doing catch up on laundry & yard work. Went to Allen’s memorial last nite. Girls a are glad to get home.
