Trading Places RV site 103

Shipshewana, Indiana

I was enjoying a peaceful ride in the back seat of the Ram when I heard it.  The clip clop of a horse's hooves.  I raised up and took a peek out the window and spotted the buggy being drawn by a horse.

I've been here before.  This must be Shipshewana, where there is a large population of Amish.

Our plans were to depart Johnny Appleseed Campground in Fort Wayne and slide into Shipshewana about an hour up the road.  The phone digged and the thunder and lightning really got my attention.  Storm warning for the next hour....so we sat right where we were and didn't even think about departure.

Shortly after 10am, all the flashing and booming dissipated but it was still raining.....not drenching...but raincoats were needed for sure.  We only had water and electric at our site so it didn't take long to wrap up the hose and cable and get on our way.

Would you believe we actually drove out of the rain and enjoyed beautiful set up weather?  Momma said she thought 65 was a tad chilly at 11:30 am, but there were promises of some sun later to add a touch of heat.

We are at the Coming Home Rally for Open Range/Highland Ridge Owners.  Parked in the site right across are Wanda and Dave from Pennsylvania.  I know we are going to be visiting with more friends as the weekend crowd arrives.  We arrived a day early.

Wait, were are you going with Wanda and Dave?  Oh yeah, you had this all planned out.  Saturday night is the Prime Rib special at Hopper's Restaurant in Goshen.  Bring me a doggie bag, please!!  I hear the meat is fork tender and seasoned perfectly.

I'm Chloe
