One day left before departure...
I am soooo ready to leave this horrendously loud, wet, traumatizing area. For the last two evenings, the sky has been flashing and booming and dumping huge amounts of water causing extreme unrest and distress. Momma says my eyes get huge and Dad says it's a wonder I don't pass out from all the hyperventilating due to storm stress.
It's a good thing I caught up on my rest during the day as I stretched out on the sofa and enjoyed a happy dream of ball playing followed by an unending supply of delicious dog treats!!
Momma says sometimes I get so excited in my dream that I squeal while my legs thrash in the air.At least the storms don't carry on all day so we can continue with our pre-launch tasks....lawn mowing, stowing the lawn whirly gigs (in case a hurricane or tropical storm arises), a tubby for me (can you believe Dad said he refuses to sniff my pond perfumed coat in the close quarters of the Ram), as well as transferring the house pantry items to the camper pantry. And just when we think we have it all taken care of, another task seems to appear. Like the trip to Culver's for Dad's strawberry concrete and a delicious grilled ruben. We certainly wouldn't want Momma and Dad to experience Culver withdrawals.
Well, ready or not, tomorrow, mid-morning we will blast off in a northerly direction. We have a comfortable drive of just under 3 hours on tomorrow's schedule. It's just an overnight stop with an arrival time after 2 pm according to the campground terms and there really isn't anything in the area of note that we would be drawn to so we can enjoy a relaxed, leisurely departure. That was good planning as it may take a bit longer to hitch up seeing as it has been a while and the routine needs to be remembered and refreshed into a smooth flowing affair.
Next time you hear from me, I'll be in the neighboring state of Georgia.
I'm Chloe
