Day 2 - getting our issues semi-resolved

 July 23, 2024

Eastbank CG site A-6

Dad headed out early this morning for his 8am appointment to check out the Ram's AC issue.  By 10 am he was back with a diagnosis and a limp-a-long fix.  It's an issue with stuck duct doors plus another loose part?? Sorry,  I don't speak auto repair the way Dad does.

Anyway, Dad told Momma not to touch any of the AC settings and we would be cool. They had opened a stuck duct door that allows the cool air to enter the cab.  The only issue is that without having good air flow due to unresponsive/inoperable duct doors, we stop receiving cool air when the system freezes up after about 90 minutes.  AC system turned off.  Windows lowered a tad.  Wait for a thaw before restarting the AC.  Definitely a limp-a-long fix until we hook up with and gather the work crew to delve into the issue....with great minds at work.

So we were able to stay on course and we made our way to Eastbank Corps of Engineers Campground in Bainbridge, Georgia.  Most of the travel was done on four lane 84.  An enjoyable ride.  But a short part of travel took place on a road that definitely stirred the paint we are carrying.

You see, our Florida neighbor, Tim, is constructing a storage shed on his Blairsville property, fondly referred to as 'Camp Chicken Potpie'.  He called to see if we had room to bring a couple of 5 gallon pails of paint from his Florida shop to CCPP.

So safely tucked away under the blue tarp is the requested paint headed for CCPP.  Now I'm sure that everyone realizes that there tends to be lots of 'action' at the rear of the camper.  Add a rough road and the paint will surely arrive stirred.  Only had a couple of 'stirring' moments today as the bulk of our travels was spent on nice, smooth as glass surfaces.  Okay, a bit of a stretch.  But you get the idea.

Eastbank is a pretty park located on Lake Seminole, right on the Georgia-Florida state line.

Not only is it on the state border line, it is close to the time zone line.  We are in the Eastern Time Zone, but so close to Central that phones tend to jump to Central Time.

Eastband campground is not well populated today.  We are the only two rigs in section A.  Section B has 4 occupied sites and C has 1 camper.

Do you suppose the heat has anything to do with that?  I think it is even too hot for the fish to be biting.  Maybe we should be heading for higher elevations, but first we intend to visit Aunt Pam's oldest daughter's family in Alabama.

Get ready for the hugs tomorrow....

I'm Chloe
PS:   The refrigerator switched over and continued to run on propane for travel mode today without a hiccup.  Go figure
