Good Samaritan

Ashland RV Park site 24

Marietta, Ohio

Today was travel day for us as we head further south.  We got to enjoy a bit of color, but the colorful fall hasn't reached its peak yet.

One tree is full of vibrant color while the tree next to it is still wearing mostly green leaves.

Dad decided it was time of a coffee break so we pulled into a rest area behind a fifth wheel with Florida plates.

After starting the generator and making coffee, he wandered over to the Minnie and found out that they were approaching the completion of the second hour of waiting for assistance with a tire change.  They had a tire that had dropped in pressure so they pulled into the rest stop and contacted Good Sam.  They were told they would receive a call back...that they were still waiting for.  So they decided to contact AAA for assistance.

Dad grabbed his tools and had the tire off in no time and the new tire on.  Charlie said he had forgotten to pack the tools needed to do the change himself.  They had been in Berlin, Ohio for two weeks and were trying to make it back to Bell, Florida.  They had headed out at 7:30 am and then stalled out here.  We wished them safe travels as they resumed their travels.

We arrived at Ashland RV Park in early afternoon and got set up in no time.  Momma and Dad decided to head into Marietta to check oiur Whit's Custard.  Dad was bit disappointed in his banana split.  Not only was his split short on custard, but he was disappointed in the quality of the custard as well.

The next stop of the day was a success story.  Momma has been looking all summer for a replacement for her broken toaster tongs.  As she entered the Cook's Store, they they were...front and center.  A container full of exactly what had been so elusive all summer.

She also found some additional items that made her smile as they were added to her bag of goodies.  But sadly, non of those items were for me.

I'm Chloe
