Oswegatchie Educational Center
Croghan, NY
You just never know what is in store at the next stop....or maybe I should say what is NOT available....like cell service and Internet. It was a back to nature weekend
with a great group of campers...a total of 9 couples from the Mohawk Roamers FMCA chapter.
It began with a caravan leaving the populated area behind
and entering the 1200 acres of wooded land within the Adirondack Park. The Oswegatchie Educational Center includes a lovely building
housing a conference room and full service kitchen with dining hall. Out buildings include bathhouse, dormatories and cabins. The volley ball field and rope courses round out the summer camp for kids and year round facilities for interested visitors including college students enhancing their leadership skills.
Momma and Dad got us settled in with our 20 amp electric service (no, that isn't a typo) after filling our fresh water tank at the bath house.
And then it was PLAYTIME with my good friend Heidi, the white German shepherd.
We had full use of a HUGE field to romp in, chasing after balls or frisbees. And there seemed to be an abundance of two legged interested in tossing those items for us to fetch. Man oh man was my tongue hanging low!!
Momma was a tad worried when she had looked at the weather forecast.
Outdoor games of corn hole and botchie and plenty of indoor card and board games. There was even a karaoke night.
What made it even sweeter, every breakfast and dinner was prepared by the camp cooks. Even dish washing was included. It just doesn't get any sweeter.
