St. Johnsville Marina and CG
St. Johnsville, NY
Momma said the season she really missed when she moved south was fall.....colorful leaves, cool temperatures and fresh APPLES. Her Dad would ship a care-package of apples in the fall that would be delivered by the UPS truck. Even before opening the box, that apple aroma would tickle the nose. Each apple would be nestled in it's crater....kind of like eggs in an egg carton... so they would arrive without bruising. Pie time!!
Now that we have wheels to roll, we can drive straight to the orchard for fresh picked apples. The early apples are being picked at Fly Creek Cider Mill and Apple Orchard so it was a no brainer as to where they would head out to today. It was a pretty ride over the country roads.
Ginger Golds, Honey Crisp, Paula Reds and Zestar
What to make first....pie...crisp....fried apples...muffins.... or just grab a fresh apple from the bowl. But then the decision of which variety.... Just too many choices.
