Wapakoneta KOA, site 15
Wapakoneta, Ohio
They may call Wapakoneta the 'Home of Neil Armstrong' but it appears they could also label this area as 'Home of the Gorgeous Sunrise'. Maybe our timing just happened to be right for once and we lucked onto Mother Nature's beautiful display.
The Neil Armstrong Museum was well done as well.
Many interesting artifacts and displays in the museum with a great movie of the launch, landing, and man's first steps on the moon.
Our campground is interesting as well. Momma and Dad had entertainment at dinner last night as well as breakfast this morning just by looking out the dining room window. They were watching neighbors set up last night. The discussion that took place revolved around the set up of the sewer hose. When the neighbors got out the bridge and then a pile of blocks to support the sewer hose, it appeared that they hadn't a clue that the bridge expanded, but after much fiddling around, the tie was undone and the bridge expanded to do the job it was meant to do. That show lasted throughout the whole meal. The sites here are rather close together. At first glance, it almost appears that there is a patio on both sides of the rig, until you realize that one actually belongs to the neighbors, even though the slide may cover part of it.On the plus side, the sites are long and many overnighters don't even bother to unhook. With a location close to I75, it is convenient for overnighters.
Dad says this area very agreeable with a tire shop about a mile away offering a replacement for our messed up tire and fuel for $4.95.
