Spring Lake Resort, Crossville, Tn
Here we are all settled in. Life is grand. Dad was able to shed his jacket when the sun came out (74 degrees) and yes, Florida friends.....we had the fire place glowing to take off the late evening and early morning chill. Truthfully, we even had the heat pump running. But it warmed up nicely....thank goodness,The sites here are arranged around Spring Lake with some sites on the water, like the Hall's who have a waterfront site and some on the other side of the road, like ours and Griffin's.
Isn't all that fall foliage just marvelous.

Not only does this area have some nice color, they also have an apple orchard which was today's big event. A trip to Rowell's Apple House for some just picked apples.
The owner of the family run business was kind enough to act as cameraman for our group shot.
So many varieties to choose from and some different varieties that Momma hadn't heard of, but unfortunally, Covid has limited the experience to grab a bag without handling or smelling the apples...no samples. This Apple House doesn't have any cider donuts or even any cider as the Apple Orchards we have been spoiled by in upstate NY, but the apples are just as tasty. Everyone grabbed at least one bag full of fruit.
Dad and Momma made a couple of good choices.
Dad was smiling as he munched on a crisp, sweet, juicy apple.

But the day wasn't all play. Steve grabbed his vac and gave both Ram's an interior cleaning while Dad grabbed his pole and mop and gave the nose of both rigs a scrub. I think they call that divide and conquer all the tasks. I think Dad was trying to get some extra physical therapy in on his still healing shoulder.
The evening was brought to a close with a rousing game of Dirty Uno for eight that followed a delicious meal. Everyone brought their own choice of meat and a side to share. Of course apple pie was on the menu.Unfortunately for me, they went to the clubhouse so I didn't get to play any games. There isn't a rally scheduled while we are here so the owner was kind enough to give us a key so we can make use of the club house for our 'mini rally'. It was almost like we had planned it. We are parked on one side of the club house, Griffin's are on the other side and Hall's are a couple sites down. The Leonard's are closer to the front of the campground so we have put them in charge of trash disposal as they drive around the loop to return to their rig.
This is a lovely club house with kitchen, ceiling fans, lots of tables with padded chairs and attached patio on the back. This campground would make great rally site. It isn't all that close to our camping group's home base area but it would definitely make a great travel rally site.
Yep, it was a good day. Sure makes one tired though trying to adjust to central time. I just need to rest my head a bit on this chair.
