Cool and colorful

Momma said it was a beautiful drive today with the colorful leaves blanketing the mountainside as we tugged up and glided down the Tennessee mountains heading for Spring Lake Resort in Crossville, Tennessee.  Dad said it would have been much more impressive if we had some sunshine to bring out the vivid colors. 

All I know is that it sure doesn't look like palm tree country!!

Dad was getting a tad concerned as we were traveling.  He kept watching the outside temperature readings as we had the nose of our rig headed north.  He was beginning to panic when the temperatures reached the low 60's. Then, just as he was announcing that we had dipped to 58 degrees, the gauge dropped to 57.  I told him I would share my fur coat with him if he needed it, but for now, just sit back and enjoy the climate controled cab of the truck and the fall colors.  It'll be warmer when we slide down the other side of the mountain.

Our trip has turned into a mini rally.  Friends Tina and Steve are in the process of moving to Tennessee from Florida.  They joined us last night in Adairsville, Georgia loaded down with another truck  and car load of items that will be left at their new home in Bean Station, Tennessee.  They decided that this would be a good week to tow their rig to Tennessee as they could spend time with us at the campground before heading on to their new home.

  Good decision for sure.  Steve loves to toss my toys so I can retrieve them, even while he is playing card games with the two-leggeds.  And I have Tina trained to feed me treats from my snack bowl upon arrival at our rig.  They are good friends for sure and so quick to train!

Now you may not think 3 rigs would be considered a mini rally, but how about 4?  Our friends from Idaho who lived in Florida at one time decided to head south before getting snowed in. Yep, Tom and Nancy arrived here at Spring Lake Resort today as well.  And now we are a gathering of four.  Nancy has a sister who lives in Crossville that they came to visit.  We are just an added bonus!
