Fantastic Festival

June 9, 2019

Scenic Hills CG

Well. this will be a boring, oh hum post.  We relocated with a non-spectacular jaunt about 60+ miles.  Even our exit wasn't impressive, unlike our entrance scratching up the steep grade.  Sliding down the  narrow lane was easy as can be.  You just let gravity take over and all is well, as long as you make the right turn at the bottom of the lane.  Dad had it all under control. I think he cheated and used low gear.  It took all the fun and challenge out of our exit.

This was one of the best....well, organized, friendly, accommodating, entertaining Bluegrass Festivals according to Momma and Dad.  The sound system was excellent so the music performed by the 6 different bands each day (over 20 bands) was fantastic.  Add in some showmanship and you wind up with quality entertainment.  The seating was terraced so no problem with the view of the stage.  We were working off our fresh water tank.  We saved our water for showers and enjoyed the excellent offerings from the on site restaurant.  Amish cooks are the best!!  The chickens on the spit had a fantastic rub and were moist and juicy according to Momma and Dad.  All I had the opportunity to do was smell their breath..  Add sweet greens, Amish noodles, cheesy potatoes, bbq beans, green beans, cole slaw or macaroni salad and yum!!  Of course there were hamburgers, hotdogs, brats and steak on the grill as well as homemade pies, hand dipped ice cream and pancake breakfasts.  Needless to say, there was no need to create a mess in our kitchen as the prices were so reasonable.  They must have sold items at cost and didn't make any profit.  I mean, when is the last time you can remember a bag of popcorn for 50 cents?

The music is over and we have traded BIG Bluegrass Buses
for the clip clop of horse and buggy

An easy pull today as we relocated to a lovely campground with lush grass for me to belly down in.

I guess you could call this wash day as the first thing Momma and Dad did....before they even let me out of my rear passenger seat in the truck...was wash and dry the rig.  Then Momma started spinning the clothes washer.  About the only thing they didn't wash was my furry coat.  Dad said something about waiting for a warmer day without the cool breeze.  Yep, everyone except the locals are in long pants and light jackets with temps in the low 70's and dipping into the 60's tonight.  Nice temps for frisbee toss.  Come on Dad, let's go play....

I'm Chloe
