Eating in the round

Blue Springs State Park site 30

Clio, Alabama

So far we are off to a great start.  This is just the second campground of many to come

Now many ask do you plan your trip and make reservations or do you wing it.  Momma is more of a type A personality.  She likes to know where we will be laying our heads down at the end of the day and Dad pretty much agrees with that philosophy.  Now me, I'm just along for the ride.  I can pretty much sleep anywhere with no worries about where to park the fifth wheel.  So as you can see by all the red and blue dots and triangles, we have reservations right up until the 10th of October when we will be in Indiana.  The plan is to slide into the Golden Triangle November campout, which really begins in October for some reason this year, before swapping out our camping bed for our house bed.

Being currently at a state park, we scored one of the 7 sites with full hook-up which means we have water, electric and sewer hook ups at our site.

The electric is only a 30 amp service so you just have to be conscience of what is actively drawing power at the same time.  This may be the first campground without 50 amp service, but it won't be the last one this summer....especially when we get into the Upper Peninsula in Michigan.  So Momma has only overloaded and tripped the breaker twice so far.  Ooops 😞  It's early days in our adventure and it takes a bit to get in the swing of things you know.  Time to slow down a tad without so much multi-tasking.

Pam's daughter and grandkids arrived this morning with swim suits and rafts.

Well, the rafts were rather flat

until Dad fired up the air compressor.

Being May, Blue Springs water is a tad chilly, but the younger ones didn't let that bother them.

Although, they did take their time easing into the water.

Later, the two legged headed off to nearby Clayton to check out the Mercantile.
What a lovely collection of items.

Check out the old style fan that runs via a belt system instead of ceiling wires.

Then it was off to Kenny's.
The restaurant is located in what looked like a silo to Momma, but Dad informed her it was actually a grain bin.

A unique round room loaded with delicious menu choices.  Momma and Dad decided on the black angus burgers....but with so many choices, it was difficult to choose.

They made different selections but decided that there is no wrong choice as both were tasty.  I'm sure I would have enjoyed any burger from the list.  Too bad I wasn't invited to join them.

I'm Chloe
