On the road again

May 28, 2019
Brunswick, Ga

The date finally rolled around and we hit the road heading north toward Georgia, but alas, Dad didn't get to see one of his favorite signs.  Lane's serves up Dad's peach cobbler topped with ice cream and is located off of I-75 in Georgia, exit 142 but our travels took us on Hwy 301 and I-95.  Not anywhere close to Lane's.

It was a rather uneventful trip which I guess is a good thing.  We didn't head out until just before 10am as Momma and Dad decided one last visit to their favorite chiropractor would launch them off in alignment.  And then there was the prescription to pick up after the pharmacy opened at 9.  With only a 4 hour trip (including breaks), we still arrived in plenty of time to get set up and for a trip to secure a second favorite of Dad's ..... seeing as he missed out on Lane's, a blizzard from Dairy Queen would have to do.

The most excitement of the day was on the trip to secure fuel.  Flashing blue lights and sirens had us pulling off to the side of the road about a dozen times as unmarked deputy vehicles rushed past us in the opposite direction from us.  It must have been a big 'event' to rally so many law enforcement officers.  On our return to the campground, it appeared that they had an area surrounded.  Guessing they were trying to close in on a ....criminal????

Tomorrow we will continue our relaxed travel pace and stop off for a couple of days to enjoy the company of Ted and Colleen in South Carolina.  Unfortunately, we won't be escaping the mid 90's as their temps are as hot as Florida's and Georgia's.

Catch you down the road....
I'm Chloe
