We made a stop in Shepherdsville, Kentucky on our way here from Nashville. Nashville wasn't as exciting for me as it was for Momma and Dad. THEY got to go to a dinner show just down the street called Nashville Nightlife. It's a family run AYCE (all you can eat) buffet with entertainment. The bass player was the emcee and one of the vocalists while his wife sang backup. The brother played drums and his college aged son shared his marvelous voice on several songs in the first set. I guess you could call the rest of the band 'family in music' although they were not blood related. But they sure had talent. The fiddle player was outstanding...his rendition of Orange Blossom Special was one of the best. Momma said they had already been to the Grand Ole Opry a couple of times on previous visits and this talent was equal in quality!
I really wasn't so sure about meeting them. I guess they could tell.
Tomorrow we head further north and Dad said they are hoping to 'camp' in the Open Range/Highland Ridge Service Center parking lot so our rig will be ready to turn over to the techs by 6:30 am on Monday morning. I sure hope they remember to take my toys, treats and food with us to the motel as well as my bed.
