Jackpot

February 17, 2019
Summerfield, Fl

Now this is a day to remember!!  You see, it all began with a sale weekend.  Yup, it's President's Weekend and the stores are encouraging sales with enticing offers....and then once they get you in the store...well, you know how it goes.

Dad had been talking about replacing our garden hose.  He has been up on the scaffold looking at his reflection in the shiny exterior of our Fiver
and he was ready for a break.  Momma suggested taking advantage of the sales at Tractor Supply for that hose replacement....and while in the area....zipping across the street to Sonny's for a bowl of their wonderful beans
along with some great barbecue. Momma says that Sonny's beans are to die for😋

Well, let me tell you.  They were in for a surprise....a truly shocking experience!!  The friendly greeting at the door had things off to a great start.  The smiling, efficient waitress kept things upbeat and positive.  The mouthwatering, served hot and cooked to perfection food was scrumptious.  But the grand finale was the shocker!!  The perky manager joined their table as they were finishing up their meal and licking the bean bowls clean with a gracious offer.  She said that every once in a while the corporate office lets the manager pick up the tab for a meal and......you guessed it.  It was kind of like having your lucky number drawn.  Their meal was being paid for by Sonny's Corporation.  Well, both their mouths dropped open with surprise and the manager could tell that both Momma and Dad were planning on taking home half of their pork sandwiches so she also offered to get them a 'to go' box.  And Momma replied, "and we also would like to take a pint of beans to go," with the expectation of paying for the to go beans that would round out their second meal of  leftover bbq sandwich and beans on another day.  Can you believe they didn't even receive a bill for the extra beans?  The beaming manager said, "I've got this."  Wow!! Meals for two days all paid for by the restaurant.  And I'm sure the second dish of bbq beans will be just as tasty as the first dish.

I had whispered in Momma's ear before they departed that my Frisbee was beginning to look a bit worn and to be sure to check out the dog supply aisle while at the store.  Well, did I hit the jackpot.  I think they spent all that dinner money saved on ME!
Not only did I get one new Frisbee...I got two.  One for home and one to keep in the Fiver bay for travel days.  Plus a couple of bags of my favorite Turkey Biscuits that I absolutely love.  I'll bet they are as good as....if not better than Sonny's bbq beans!!

Bingo, I sure hit the jackpot today.  It just doesn't get any better....well, maybe if they would open that package of biscuits and grab a handful for me......after a few tosses of the Frisbee in the backyard.

PS:  Dad did get his new garden hose.

Back home for a bit

Back home for a bit

You may have noticed that it has been a while since I have written.  There is a very good reason for that.  Dad has been a computer hog.
Isn't it my turn yet?
What do you mean it's not my turn and I may never get a turn with my dirty paws?  I can't believe you'd say that to me.
Well, that may very well be true as I LOVE playing outside.  Check out the dog park at the campground.
We just spent a LONG (Tuesday - Sunday) weekend in Bushnell at Red Oaks RV Resort with our Golden Triangle Sams Chapter friends.  They spent a bit of time outside and some even fixed dinner over the coals using pie irons.

I also enjoy being outside, relaxing and chilling out and resting up after a game of Frisbee.

As you all know, Momma LOVES to play games....card games, board games.  I've been trying to learn a few of the games myself but I seem to be having a slight problem holding the cards.  They really don't fit in my paws.....so.....I tried holding them with my teeth.
Boy did that get everyone excited!!  I thought I had jeopardized my chance of ever receiving another cookie bone treat for the rest of my life.  But it seems I have been forgiven and the treats are still rolling my way.  I sure do enjoy a good chew on my rawhide bone.
I can pull the knot off the end in no time.  After all, I'm a year old now and super smart.  And you may ask, how did I get so smart?  Well, let me give you an example.  Let's say you want to know how a razor blade in a handle works.  Now, this isn't for everyone...as you have to be very careful not to cut yourself, which I was very careful ....not so much as a scratch.  If you work at it with dexterity, you can dismantle and investigate and satisfy your curiosity.
Right now, we have an extra rig in our yard.  Steve and Carol kissed their old Class A goodbye
 and

now own a gorgeous fiver....that's short for 5th Wheel rig.
Dad and Steve are upgrading the brakes to disc brakes and making a few personal modifications to fit their needs.  I'm not sure Steve likes visiting here as we have a long driveway to back into, but he says he can use a bit of practice turning the truck wheel in the right direction to move the fiver in the proper direction.  I think he about has it mastered....and not a scratch along the way!!!  Way to go Steve!!!
I have found that I can stand in the waterfall and wash my toes after digging into the turf during a good game of 'catch the Frisbee'.

So now it's MY turn to get on the computer and share an update or two after a quick nap of course.......
