February 27, 2018

I have to admit that I have been making great strides...leaps actually.... in training my parents.  Just the other day, we were strolling through Camping World...well, it was hard to really stroll because everyone thought I was sooooo cute and they all wanted to stop and greet me.  Anyway, I made sure we came home with a 'beaver' just for me. Camping World in Summerfield knows how to treat their 4 legged shoppers.  They have all our shopping items right up front in the store while Dad's items were all the way in the back.

My beaver has the best squeaker in it.  The first evening, I about wore out the squeaker.  It was so much more interesting than that dumb movie my parents we trying to watch.  I guess I still have some training to do to get them to tune into the National Geographic channel in the evenings.  I'll bet NG even airs shows on real beavers in action!

Did you know all you have to do is pretend to wander a tad too far and you get treats?  Just prance toward the front of the house and.....wait for it.....'Chloe, come!' ....and there it is.  The treat call.  And if you come at double time speed, you not only get a treat, you get pets and body scrubs as well.  It works every time!!  I had them trained before the first week ended.

Treats are also given out even though I enjoy chewing and chomping on my lead.  For some unknown reason, my parents get all excited and all that comes out of their mouths is 'NO' but......all you need to do is squat and pee and the treats immediately appear. I guess you can have a good lead chew and a treat as well if you just produce a little tinkle...and I can tinkle every two hours easily.

It's a good thing there is lots of room to romp and race here so I can burn off all those extra treat calories.   The FedX truck just delivered a big Chewy box loaded with all my favorite treats.  I REALLY like the nice soft chicken bits best.  Mom, Dad, make sure you stuff your pockets full.  I KNOW how to empty your pockets.  I have you trained!!

Meeting the neighbors

February 21, 2018

It was another delightful morning in Florida. I was basking in the balmy southern air and catching my breath from an early morning of play.
Yep, I like to get Dad moving about 5 am.  He said it was a tad early for him to be romping and stomping so he enjoyed a cup of coffee as he introduced me to a tennis ball.  Man oh man what fun that ball is.  Dad said I played ball for a good hour.

Well, it's a good thing I had taken a quick break because Rocco came over to meet me.

Momma said you may know Rocco's grandparents, neighbors Tim and Julie.  Rocco may be 12 but he sure can play like a pup.  Maybe it just seemed like that because with is long stride, he could catch me before I could blink.  Tag, you're it!!
It didn't take me long to figure out that he was too large to fit under the car or the truck so I'd dash from one to the other and elude him.  Catch me if you can big guy.  I may be little, but I'm swift and cagey.  Want to catch the action?

The name game

It can be challenging to come up with just the right name.  I know my new forever parents did a lot of research on the web.  They consulted friends.  They even gathered a list of possible names from Carol's daughter-in-law who decided they needed help when she heard Dad was leaning toward 'Cinder'.  No one's first thoughts are of Cinderella.... a princess for sure.  The first thought is cinder ...as in cinderblock....block head.  Whoa Dad.  That could be a real self-esteem killer.

Then my parents were watching the Olympics one night and saw a cute, adventuresome, seventeen year old, Gold Medal winning Olympian named Chloe who fearlessly challenged in the ladies halfpipe competition on her snowboard.  And there it was.....my new handle....my name....an Olympian name.  One that would send me fearlessly flying up the stairs, high off the ground into the doorway of my 5th wheel home.  A name that will let me challenge that beetle.

Chloe vs the Beetle

Not only am I awesome to look at.....I am fearless and adventuresome.

And now I need my nap

I'm Chloe!!

And so it begins....

Whimper, whimper.....

Who are these strange two legged people and WHERE are my 4-legged brother and sisters?  There were six of us born on December 22nd in Trenton, Tennessee.  Just one brother and all the rest of us girls....Australian Shepherds....meet my siblings.

So Sunday morning, February 18th, I was loaded in a van on my way to meet the owners of my 'Forever Home'.  Now remember, I'm only 8 weeks old and I have NEVER been off the farm.  And then I found myself in a Walmart parking lot in Marietta, Ga being passed off.

Heavens to Betsy are you trying to choke me with this thing around my neck?

All we have done all day is ride in this big white truck.  Watch out for that turtle in the road.  See it?  Over there...

This is getting a tad boring.....
I feel a nap coming on.
Where are we heading anyway?

To my home on wheels parked in a campground in Perry, Ga.  Hmmm.... You say I'll have two homes and this is the one on wheels?

I

Hey, how do I get in this home on wheels?  You want me to do what?????  I guess it's a good thing I'm adventuresome.

Will my Florida home be this much of a challenge?

Oh, by the way...let me introduce myself.  I'm Chloe, the latest member of the Hime family.  I'm a pure bred Aussie with a blue merle coat of fur and two blue eyes.

Join me on my escapades.
