On the road again: traveling with friends

March 8, 2026

Pebble Hill RV site 14

Waycross, Georgia

March has rolled around once again and that means it's caravan time with some of our Golden Triangle Camper members with whom we have been enjoying monthly weekend campouts during the winter months.

We departed from Wildwood RV Village in Wildwood, Florida today traveling north into Georgia.

It was a much longer ride today traveling just over 200 miles.  Our weekend campouts are always much closer to home, but I didn't mind. I have a comfy ride in the back seat of the Ram.  I needed to rest up after I was finally able to talk Louise into playing ball with me while camping at Wildwood.  She just can't resist my sad, 'I need to play' look.

Seven rigs are parked near each other here at Pebble Hill.

The hosts for the weekend campout had treated us to pulled pork.  Lots of pulled pork!  More than could be devoured at one meal so..... we gathered at the Pebble Hill Clubhouse and enjoyed left over pulled pork, tossed salad, bbq beans, green beans and the leftover veggies from the spread that Wildwood RV Village had provided for us over the weekend for our happy hour.
And to finish off the meal, we had pretty green pistachio cookies, fudge and jelly beans.
and what's your favorite flavor?

There was still time for the gals to gather around the table for a couple of games of Fast Track.
And so the caravan begins....a month long adventure picking up a few more friends and growing in size as we travel the highways.

Time for ER

 October 29-31, 2025

Wildwood RV Village site S03

Wildwood, Fl

We have arrived in Florida at Wildwood RV Village...about 45 minutes later than expected on Wednesday.  About 8 miles from our exit, we were stopped by three lanes of standstill traffic that eventually began creeping, s l o w ly forward, due to an accident.  So close and yet so far.

Momma said the greeting she received when we finally arrived was over the top friendly, informative and welcoming.  Our Golden Triangle Campers group will be arriving tomorrow, Thursday, for a weekend campout.  The campground had a welcoming banner made and hung as part of the welcoming greeting.

In addition to that, on Thursday they had a huge spread of finger foods all set up for the group to enjoy during afternoon social hour.  That was a first time experience making the greeting even more memorable and impressive.

Our sites are nice pull through sites right by the clubhouse.

The grass is a different kind of grass than the lush, long bladed grass of the north, but it is adequate.  This is definitely jacket weather in the morning but when the sun begins to warm things up a tad, Dad will shed his jacket....but not Momma.

The guys have worked on a couple of small projects

on a couple of campers while Momma has been making up for lost game time, playing Fast Track with the gals.

And then the 'incident' took place.......  Dad called to Momma,  it's time for ER.  Momma took one look and wanted to know how that happened.

Poor bear had lost BOTH is arms.....scattered over the floor.
Fortunately, he hadn't lost his smile.

Momma asked Dad if he was playing too rough but he just looked over and pointed at me....and I looked over and pointed at chicken.

Just look at chicken's face.  I'm sure he looks guilty enough that you will believe me when I say chicken did it.  That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

So Momma opened up the sewing box for ER....emergency repair.  I am happy to report bear is as good as new with no visible signs of destruction.  Let the playtime resume!
